Culinary Grade Matcha Tea Powder (or Cooking Grade Matcha)

Our culinary grade matcha tea powder (also known as cooking grade matcha, kitchen grade matcha, ingredient grade matcha or cafe grade matcha) is from the Nishio region of Japan.  Matcha tea powder has been produced from this area for the last 800 years. Leaves that are picked for culinary grade matcha are lower on the tea plant than leaves used for ceremonial grade matcha.  Our culinary grade matcha will have a stronger flavor than that of ceremonial grade allowing it to shine through whatever matcha recipe you make. This matcha powder is perfect for baking, making matcha lattes, blending into a matcha smoothie, or mixing into baked sweets.

Culinary grade matcha has slightly different nutritional properties, with slightly lower L-theanine and other nutrients, all though the difference is not too big.  You can be sure that whatever you pair this culinary grade of matcha with, health benefits will be added.

Our culinary grade of matcha comes from the gold standard of matcha production.  Our matcha is shade-grown and stone ground giving you authenticity and great taste.  Our matcha is not stored long because we buy in small orders to ensure the freshest matcha to our customers.  All of our matcha comes with a 18 month expiration date located on the back of the bag or tin.
