We’re planning on having a lazy weekend. You know the kind: waking up late, having brunch and just hanging out with our friends. It sounds perfect to us, but you know what? To make it extra special we are going to add some pancakes into the mi!

We’ve tried many different kinds of pancakes and some of our favourites are chocolate chip and buttermilk. But, after becoming more concerned about our growing waistlines, we now realise that it’s often better to go for vegan version of pancakes.

And what better vegan option is there than matcha green tea pancakes? We’d never tried matcha pancakes before but now we’re converts, thanks to the delicious taste and health benefits.

This matcha recipe is vegan and raw, with sugar, dairy and gluten free ingredients. It’s quick and easy - and perfect for a lazy weekend.

Matcha Green Tea Pancake with Coconut Milk Recipe


Vegan Green Tea Pancake ingredients

  • 1.5 cups rolled oats
  • 1-2 tsps Organic cooking grade matcha 
  • 1-1.5 cups soy milk
  • 1-2 ripe banana
  • Coconut cream & additional fruits (optional)


  1. Blend the rolled oats first into “oat flour” in the blender
  2. Add matcha powder, banana, soy milk into the oat flour
  3. Blend all until everything is mixed
  4. Adjust consistency by adding flour to be thicker or milk to be thinner
  5. Heat the stickless pan on medium to low heat
  6. Dollop the batter on the pan in size of pancake you want
  7. Flip when the bubbles appear
  8. Stack the pancakes on the plate
  9. Top with coconut cream and your choice of fruits
