To be honest, when the new week comes our energy levels aren’t always buzzing.

So to start things off right, we tend to seek an energy boost from our secret weapon - matcha. Matcha is not only delicious, it’s also an incredible focus enhancer that fills us with positive vibes.

We always love to start our mornings with a matcha recipe. When we were living in the US, we always made sure to swing past our local Starbucks and order a Venti matcha green tea latte before going to work.

Now that we know more about matcha, we’ve expanded beyond the lattes and embraced loads of different green tea recipes to start our day - and we’d love to share them with you.

For this week, we’ve got a quick, easy-to-make homemade smoothie bowl with matcha by Annie, or annietarasova.

The smoothie bowl contains nothing but fresh and natural ingredients, like banana, spinach, chia seeds, coconut water and lemon zest, with matcha green tea powder as a finishing touch.

Sugar and gluten free, this smoothie bowl is the perfect start to the week and the working day.

Matcha Mixed Berry Smoothie Bowl

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • A handful of spinach
  • 1 tablespoon of Kenko Tea Organic Matcha Powder
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of grated lemon zest
  • Blend all the ingredients
  • Serve in a bowl and top with strawberries, blueberries, chia seeds and buckwheat ‘Buckinis’.
