Matcha Chia Seed Pudding

Today I made a Matcha green tea chia seed pudding. If you've never heard of chia seeds then I can't help you, because I have no idea what they are. Probably some ancient Amazonian grain similar to quinoa and I'm sure by purchasing them I've helped displaced an ancient tribe living in the jungle or two.

Nevertheless, they are apparently healthy and full of protein, healthy fats and antioxidants, at least according to this lady who seems to know all about them. So with that behind us let's get on with the recipe, as I'm sure no one came to listen to me dribble on...

  • Soy Milk 1/2 cup
  • Tbsp Honey
  • Blueberries - 1 handful
  • Banana - 1 large
  • Matcha Powder - 5 grams
  • Chia seeds - 75 grams

  • Dissolve the matcha in warm water
  • Add chia seeds into a bowl
  • Add your honey, soy mlk and matcha mixture

How to make a Chia Seed Pudding

  • Now you have to mix everything together, the consistency should be thick but still a bit wet - alot of the excess liquid gets absorbed into the chia seeds (I think).
  • Refrigerate for a few hours (overnight is even better)
  • Add your banana and blueberries on top then is should look like this:

That's it. Easy as 1,2,3.

How does it taste? It tasted like I thought it would taste - a weird, grainy dessert with green tea. I enjoyed the flavour, and it is super healthy from all the antioxidants of matcha and chia, but the texture is a little 'strange'.

I think I'll stick to my smoothies!
